Silhouette Collage Part I

Silhouette Collage

Materials: 18x24 drawing paper, yardstick, pencil, magazines, eraser, rubber cement, acrylic medium (modge podge), Black Sharpie, bright lamp, and color pencils

Directions:
Collage:
1. Use the pencil and yardstick to draw a border around the edges of your paper. Your border will be the width of the yardstick. Write your name and period on the back of your paper.
2. Set up the lamp facing a wall and post up your paper up on the wall.
3. Grab a partner and stand in front of the lamp so your shadow is cast onto the paper.
4. Take turns with your partner to trace each others shadows, making sure that you do not cross into the border of your paper. Sketch LIGHTLY
5. After finishing your outline. Cut out magazine pieces that represent you and glue them to fill the shape of your silhouette with rubber cement. Stay out of the border.

Motto/Mantra:
1. Find a quote you like, that may represent you or be an important saying in your life.
2. With obvious care, draw out the words on a separate piece of paper, color with color pencil, and ink with sharpie.
3. Cut out neatly and glue with rubber cement somewhere on your silhouette.

Outline:
1. Finish by outlining your silhouette with sharpie.
2. To make a nice line make sure you have long, smooth, pen strokes and make the border around your silhouette 1/4 inch wide.
3. DO NOT SHARPIE AROUND THE SIDE THAT TOUCHES THE PAPER'S BORDER.

end part one.
